[VIDEO] Country's Best Cabins: Editor's Notes Floor Plans Issue 2011
|
Hi, I am Whitney Richardson with Country's Best Cabins. You've caught me in my office here finishing up the last of our Floor Plans issue, which we put out each year. Not only do we include some great design tips on key areas of the home, like the kitchen and the bathroom, we also look at some of the design trends that are occurring in the industry of late.
One of the main areas that people seem to be interested in is aging-in-place design. Although that seems to have a certain stigma — no one really likes to think about getting older, after all — the design is actually anything but. Following somewhat in line with universal design principles, it actually focuses on creating a home that is great for all generations — not just you, but your children and your grandchildren, or for anyone else who might be visiting your home as well. We also feature a home tour that handily shows just how beautiful and functional a home can be in terms of designing for a handicap-accessible individual.
We will be putting a few articles in the next coming weeks, too, so be to check out countrysbestcabins.com for a few sneak peeks. I hope you will enjoy the issue as much as I have in working on it. Speaking of which, I should probably get back to it. Thanks for your time.
