Builder Dale Phelps suggested siting the home on a grassy hilltop to take advantage of the spectacular mountain views. The couple also modified the covered porch that wraps around the left side to an open deck.

The peaceful covered porch is the perfect setting for reading a good book and soaking in the thrills of nature. "At night, there's a wonderful view of the constellations and the Big Dipper," says Alessandra.

The couple's two children have loads of fun in this bed-decked bedroom. "The children didn't claim a room for themselves, so whenever we have guests, they give up this room and sleep somewhere else," says Alessandra. To increase living space, the couple opted to install hooks on the wall with hangers in place of closets for all bedrooms but the master bedroom.

The living room's focal point is a gas fireplace covered in Eldorado Adirondack River Rock with a granite mantel. A soaring 14-foot cathedral ceiling provides the open, airy feel the couple loves. "The Ingemis wanted additional height on their first and second floors, so the builder added two extra log rows," says Richard Titorenko of Coventry Log Homes. "It makes a tremendous difference when you walk into the home because it feels so much bigger."

Maple cabinetry adorns the interior log walls of the kitchen, while bone-colored ceramic tile covers the main countertop and dual-level island, which provides ample room both for food prep and an eating space. The interior walls are protected with a clear polyurethane seal.

Dominic and Alessandra call the master bedroom their personal space since they have dedicated the rest of the house for the enjoyment of others. It features a Queen-sized wrought-iron bed. The corner chair is a yard-sale find and there is a beautiful view of the mountains and back yard from their large picture window.

We also live in Danvers and are trying to find land ( the hardest part of all this).
Your home is beautiful and I wish I could come and visit you to see it in person...
Best of Luck to you all for making your dream come true. :-)

I love your guest bedroom with all the beds in it! Fun! I also loved that you used tile countertops in the kitchen. We did also because even though there are so many natural stones out there they just seem too modern looking for a cabin! We have granite in our main house and it feels too modern there! Lovely home!
